GEN KELSANG MENLA
Gen Kelsang Menla has studied under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years and was requested by him to become the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Texas in June 2017. Gen Menla was ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk in 2001 and has worked and taught within the New Kadampa Tradition for many years. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.
Gen Kelsang Menla oversees the class programs and comes to Lubbock for Saturday courses four or five times a year.
DAVID SHEA
David has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 20 years and is currently on Teacher Training Program. He has been teaching General Program and Foundation Program classes since 2004. He enjoys sharing his love and enthusiasm for Buddhist teachings and showing how meditation can be incorporated into daily life. He is a devoted husband and father, and serves as a clarinet professor at Texas Tech University.
ROD HOBSON
Rod Hobson has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 15 years and is currently studying on Foundation Program. He has been teaching General Program Classes since 2009. Noted for his story telling and his sense of humor, Rod enjoys sharing Buddhist teachings as practical advice for helping people live happier and more peaceful lives. He is a devoted husband and father of three daughters. During the day, he practices law as a defense attorney.
TONI MCGOVERN
Toni McGovern has been studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism for 14 years and is currently studying on Foundation Program. She enjoys teaching General Program classes when she can. Noted for her insights and great energy to make things happen at the center, Toni enjoys sharing Buddhist teachings as practical advice for helping people to solve their daily problems. She is a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and enjoys doting over her three beautiful grand children.
