Eight Steps to Happiness
with Buddhist Teacher Barbara Stallbohm
Sunday Mornings, 10:30am – Noon | Repeated Tuesday Evenings, 6:30-7:45
Everyone, whether or religious or non-religious, is looking for happiness all the time and wants to be free from problems and suffering permanently. We can fulfill these wishes through understanding and practicing meditation and the practice of loving kindness.
Happiness is part of the mind that experiences inner peace, or peace of mind, so the real source of happiness lies within the mind, not in external conditions. If our mind is pure and peaceful we will be happy, regardless of our external conditions, but if it is impure and unpeaceful we will never be happy, no matter how hard we try to change our external conditions.
In these classes, Buddhist teacher Barbara Stallbohm, will guide meditations and give teachings on developing the powerful mind of loving kindness, and to learn how to develop and maintain a peaceful mind all the time. These teachings are the core of the Buddhist path, but are important for everyone, whether Buddhist or not, to find a real source of happiness from a different source.
