Compassionate Conversations Half-Day Retreat with Gen Kelsang Menla
Saturday, November 9, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Every living being has the same basic wish – to be happy and to avoid suffering. From this point of view, we are all exactly the same. Knowing this, it makes no sense to consider our own happiness and freedom from suffering more important than anyone else’s.
How can we use this understanding when conversing with others? How can practicing compassionate communication strengthen our relationships and create peace in our own mind?
Taught by Buddhist monk and resident teacher of KMC Texas, Gen Kelsang Menla, this half-day course will teach you how to develop a mind of loving kindness, and to engage in your conversations and interactions with love and compassion.
Gen Kelsang Menla, ordained in 2001, was appointed as the Resident Teacher of KMC Texas in Dallas in 2017. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation. In the last 25 years, in addition to giving teachings and guiding meditations which have reached thousands of people, Menla has completed temple building projects in Baltimore, MD, Albuquerque, NM and here in Dallas, TX. His passion is for helping to create harmonious communities filled with genuine joy, that become sources of true healing.
