A Beginner’s Guide to Meditation – Half Day Retreat
with Buddhist Teacher, David Shea
Saturday, September 14, 10:00am – 1:00 pm
Would you like to have a more peaceful experience in your everyday life? Have you ever wanted to start a meditation practice but didn’t know how?
Living a peaceful and happy life can seem difficult when faced with all the problems that come with living in our world. Sometimes it can feel as though it is impossible to maintain a calm mind. However, experiences of stress, agitation, anxiety, and other disturbances are not an intrinsic part of our mind, and therefore, can be changed. No matter how unruly our mind seems, it can be restored to its actual true nature, a peaceful clarity. How do we do this? By learning how to control our mind and becoming familiar with virtuous objects that cause inner peace. Slowly, over time, we will notice a more and more peaceful experience in our everyday life.
Join us for this half-day retreat where we will teach on the foundations of Buddhist meditation with practical tips for starting and maintaining a meditation practice. We will also provide 2 guided meditations sessions, so you can practice what you learn.
This retreat is good for beginners and those that are wanting to strengthen or reinvigorate their practice.
