Introduction to Emptiness Half Day Course with David Shea
Saturday, April 14, 10:00am – 1:00pm
Buddha’s teachings on ultimate truth help us to understand that our mind is the creator of our daily experience. We all live a subject reality. In these teachings, we will learn that our mind is much more involved with our daily experience than we ever would have imagined. If we train our mind to be come more compassionate, patient, loving and peaceful, our daily experience will necessarily change for the better.
“Although things appear directly to our senses to be truly, or inherently existent, in reality all phenomena lack, or are empty or, true existence. A book, our body, our friends, we ourself and the entire universe are in reality just appearances to mind, like things seen in a dream”
– Modern Buddhism, p. 104 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
In this half-day course, Buddhist Teacher David Shea will guide meditations and give teachings on how we can start to understand the power of a peaceful loving mind to shape a meaningful and happy life.
