Letting Go! with Gen Kelsang Menla
Saturday, April 23, 10am – 1pm
Most of our daily problems and conflicts occur because we hold on to our thoughts, opinions and wishes too tightly. This grasping at the fulfillment of our own wishes can often cause stress, anxiety and problems in our daily lives. By letting go of thoughts and perspectives that disturb our mental peace and happiness, we can learn to live with a peaceful, happy and accepting outlook in our daily experience that can help us realize our potential for a meaningful life.
Gen Kelsang Menla will offer advice and guide us in meditation to help us see the faults of grasping too tightly to our own wishes and expectations , and to help us learn how to enjoy the inner peace and joy of letting go.
No experience is necessary and people from all backgrounds are welcome.
Gen Kelsang Menla has studied under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for over 20 years and was requested by him to become the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Texas in June 2017. Gen Menla was ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk in 2001 and has worked and taught within the New Kadampa Tradition for many years. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.
