Compassion: The Path to Peace
With Gen Kelsang Menla
Saturday, November 9, 10:00am – 1:00pm @BKBC
Inner peace and freedom from suffering for ourself and others is made possible through the development of our good heart. We need to be good natured with a good heart because in this way we will reap good results. From this foundation of loving-kindness we can develop a strong compassion, which is motivated to help and protect others.
Many people have come to experience true peace and happiness through the practice of love and compassion. If we use the instructions Buddha taught, there is no reason why we should not be able to do the same.
In this class you will learn how to improve your good heart by developing empathy and a caring attitude towards those around you. You will also learn how compassion is not a heavy burden but a joyful state of mind that leads to real inner peace, spiritual growth, and eventually the end of all suffering.
Is This For Me?
This half-day course is for anyone who wants to grow spiritually, improve their good heart, and better help those around them. No previous experience of meditation or knowledge of Buddhism is required.
Everyone welcome!
Gen Kelsang Menla was ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk in 2001 and has taught Kadampa Buddhism since that time. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.
