Living With Intention: A Meditation Mini-Class
With Gen Kelsang Menla
Saturday, October 12, 10:00am – 1:00pm @BKBC
Come join us for a special Saturday mini class with our guest teacher, Gen Kelsang Menla, American Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Texas in Dallas.
With fast-paced lives and even faster moving thoughts, we can feel pulled about by emotions and circumstances. Positive affirmations, sensory awareness, mindfulness of movement, visualization, mantra- there are so many presentations of meditation. With all of these methods available, how do we understand meditation as a practical and effective tool for positive change?
This mini-class will explain an easy to understand practice of meditation which focuses on the use of intention and is presented in three simple steps. With intention we channel our thoughts and energy in a meaningful direction and harness the immense creative power of our mind. Through this we can take control of our thoughts, transform our mind, and live with a clarity of purpose and intention in daily life.
Gen Kelsang Menla was ordained as a Kadampa Buddhist monk in 2001 and has taught Kadampa Buddhism since that time. He brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.
