Actual Love – A Half Day Course with David Shea
Saturday, May 12, 10:00am – 1:00pm
To develop and enjoy good relationships in our life, we must learn acceptance and patience, and the difference between love and attachment. Love brings only good results and happiness; attachment brings only problems such as jealousy, dependence and conflict.
“Loving others is principally an attitude of mind, and the way in which we express it depends on the needs and wishes of each individual as well as our karmic connection with them. We cannot physically care for everyone, but we can developing a caring attitude toward all beings. This is the main point of training the mind. By training our mind in this way we will eventually become a Buddha with the actual power to protect all living beings”
– Eight Steps to Happiness, p. 84 by Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.
In this half-day course, Buddhist Teacher David Shea will guide meditations and give teachings on how we can start to understand the power of a peaceful loving mind to shape a meaningful and happy life.
